Absa launches an astute Accelerator Entrepreneurship Programme in Kimberley
Absa in collaboration with the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) launched the Absa Accelerator Programme on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This programme is geared at enabling the Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to enhance proficiency in managing their businesses and further equip business owners with skills, tools and resources for growth in a highly demanding world of business.
The Accelerator Programme is an Absa programme but through the partnership with Seda it has reached many SME businesses. Since the partnership agreement in 2017, the programme has provided non – financial support to 35 established business owners in the Free State and Northern Cape provinces helping them to grow sustainable businesses in local economy.
The programme targets existing business owners who have been in operation for several years, with a turnover of at least R500, 000.00 per annum but not more than R50 million. Furthermore, these should at least be 51% Black Owned companies.
According to Absa Enterprise Development Manager Mr Gawie Pretorius, the programme consist of four (4) modules and participants will receive certificates after completion of each module. Mr Pretorius further mentioned that the duration of the programme is six (6) months.
The Absa Accelerator Programme will also be launched in the John Taolo Gaetsewe and ZF Mgcawu districts in July 2018.
