AKA Celebrates Great Grandmothers 105th Birthday in the City
KIMBERLEY – Ahead of his headline performance at the Diamonds and Dorings Food and Music Show on the 31th March, rapper Kiernan Forbes (AKA) was in the city to celebrate his great-grandmother’s 105th birthday. Accompanied by his mother, grand-mother and daughter Kairo, the megastar confirmed that he was in the city on a ‘sabbatical’ ‘to replenish his spirit’ ahead of his trip to Austin, Texas in the USA. The Cape Town born Rapper recently revealed that the Touch my Blood album he is currently working on will be his last as he would like to focus all his energies on his business endeavours.
The hit-maker recently signed an endorsement deal with Cruz Vodka, to have his own AKA branded range of alcoholic beverage, which will hit the shelves soon. The StarSign hit-maker is expected to perform at the 18th instalment of Diamonds and Dorings festival. The festival is one of the biggest events in the Northern Cape Province where attendees will enjoy performances by the country’s top musicians ranging in genres of Hip Hop, House, and Afro Soul. This year the city will welcome R&B legend Joe, who will headline the main Diamonds and Dorings Music Festival as the international act on the 1st April. AKA along with songstress Monique Bingham and TKZee’s Kabelo will be the headline acts at the Food and Music Festival instalment of the 3 day extravaganza.
