For The People

BOOK REVIEW: Moshe le Sefofane

Moshe le Sefofane is a colourful Setswana children’s book written by local writer, actor and poet Mogale Sedibe, co-edited by Gontse Chaane.  The book was published by Puku Publishers.

The writer narrates an adventurous story about a courage’s little fly called Moshe who lives in the city of diamonds (Teemaneng). Moshe dreams of flying high up in the sky like an aeroplane. He asked his bird friends to help him make his wish possible, which they were happy to do. The birds helped Moshe by training him to fly with but he couldn’t grasp the skill.

This is a great children’s book that teaches kids about perseverance, innovation as well as the importance of helping and supporting friends when they are in need. A great bed time story for kids in an indigenous language.
