CRIME WATCH – 16-07-2018

KIMBERLEY

Police in Galeshewe have requested information regarding the murder of an unknown 34-year-old man. Police say the the deceased was assaulted at the of the June month this year in Methodist Street. The deceased was taken to Kimberley Hospital for medical treatment where he died on Monday, 02 July 2018. It is alleged that the deceased was staying in Methodist Street. Police have urged the community to come forward with and information regarding the incident to please contact the Investigating Officer Detective Warrant Officer Gys Smith on 082 302 0393. No suspect arrested and is unknown.                                                                                          

HARTSWATER

Police in the province shutdown a factory housing counterfeit goods worth R 77 million in the Harstwater area. Police followed up on information regarding the manufacturing, packaging and distribution of alleged household counterfeit goods and arrested six suspects during a sting operation.  It is alleged that the suspects were in possession of counterfeit goods such as branded spices, baking powder instant yeast, sanitary towels, shoe polish and many more. Police also confiscated the machinery used for the alleged manufacturing and packaging of goods. The five males and female suspect should be appearing before the Hartswater Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession, manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit goods.

 

 

 

 

 

 

KAKAMAS

A 42-year-old male hiking from Kakamas to Poffadder is facing charges of drug possession after police stopped him during a routine search and confiscated over two-thousand kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of R 5 227. The suspect will be appearing before the Kakamas Magistrate’s Court soon.
