KURUMAN – The Kuruman based John Taolo Gaetsewe Developmental Trust heralds increased infrastructure, business development and social support for the district. The Trust has been mandated with aiding an array of projects such as the construction of 3 bedroom houses for families living under dilapidated conditions, building of clinics, community centres and schools.
It also partners government and corporate partners in similar community infrastructural projects and in awareness and capacity building. The industrious spokesperson of the Trust Modiri Gabaatlhole revealed that the board would be meeting in April to ratify projects set to be unveiled for this financial year. “We keeping within our mandate under the guidance of our CEO Tumelo Mpolokeng. “It should also be noted that we have also extended help towards the construction of offices for tribal authorities.
Our community development involvement also extends into the education sector and in harnessing developmental entrepreneurship through the help of corporate partners.” Gaabatlhole also had words of praise for the CEO Mpolokeng in being forthright on accountability: “The Trust prides itself with good governance. We are audited by an independent and reputable auditing firm and have achieved successive clean audits.” The key funders of the Trust in its pursuit of bettering the lives of the citizens of the JTG district which is endowed with precious minerals; are an array of mining houses such as Sishen Iron and Ore and Tshipi-e-Ntle. The Trust literally staged its meetings under a tree upon being founded in 2002 and now boasts comfortable offices from where it renders support to the three local municipalities; Joe Morolong, Gamagara and Gasegonyane.
